For those of you that don’t know, Daenerys Targaryen is one the main characters of “Game of Thrones” the phenomenally successful TV show, adaptation of George RR Martin’s books “A Song of Ice and Fire”.
If you ask me, Daenerys is definitely one of the most interesting characters ever portrayed in the history of Tv Shows.
Not only she is drop-dead gorgeous, but she’s confident, strong, independent and every other bad-ass adjective that you can even think of.
She goes through up and downs, victories and defeats; throughout the 7 Seasons (Season 8 is coming up on 14th April 2019) we can witness her magnificence and her extraordinary growth into the Queen that she was always meant to be.
She’s been sold, raped, misused, insulted but she has always find her inner strength and she has always managed to come out of the adversities of life victorious.
That’s why Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, is the ultimate role model for women.
Yeah, she has a super long bad-ass name too!
Here’s what she teaches us:
Don’t take crap from anyone. Ever.
She is in control of her body, her mind, herself. Any man who threatens that risk the wrath of Dany. Okay, you don’t need to order your Dragons to burn anyone, but the message for women is universal.
Pursue your dreams, no matter how hard it can be.
She is determined and she knows what she wants. And in the end she always gets it. Just keep fighting for it, and don’t let nobody break your stride.
Pick your battles.
Fight for what you believe in, but don’t get distracted on your way. She teaches us that we can’t react to every slight with the power of a Dragon, that sometimes our wrath is best left for another day when it can truly have the intended effect.
Do whatever it takes to reach your goals.
Well, I’m not saying that we have to eat the heart of a horse to be successful, but Daenerys teaches us that, sometimes, getting what you want means getting your hands dirty.
Find your own dragons, feed them, care for them, and they will return the favor.
Either at work or in your personal life, you have to find the right people for you, “your dragons” and once you find them, take care of them, feed them your positiveness and appreciate them every step of the way.
Believe me girl: You will get everything in return.
Lead by inspiring and not terrifying.
Instead of using fear and violence, Daenerys leads her army with compassion and awesomeness.
She has the respect of the people that choose to follow her.
So ladies, I know we don’t all have an army of unsullied to lead, but if you want to become a #girlboss, either at work or at home, you have to gain the respect of the others first. Start to think like a leader!
Last but not least, Daenerys teaches us that no matter how hard your battle can be, you can always win if you are 100% sure of who you are and what you are fighting for.
